Secret facts on eating fish

There are many so called facts on eating fish some say eat more others say eat less. The most reliable way to know how much fish you should eat is by checking your blood type in the book eat right for your blood type. One other way is by changing your diet for 6 weeks using 4 serves of fish per week being 6oz for men & 4oz for women to see how your body reacts. Your body is smart it will tell you and you will more than likely lose some weight due to the fact of less red meat being stuck in your system.

When I say 6oz or 180 gram for men & 4oz or 120 gram for women, I mean of fish flesh, NOT batter, crumbs or other fancy coatings or sauce.

You should feel better this indicates this is what your body wants if you feel worse after 6 weeks you should see your doctor or try a different eating plan like less junk food. As with anything supposedly good for you there is always some sort of danger present. With fish it is Lead, Mercury and other heavy metal poisoning, with walking you could get hit by a car and driving you could have an accident.

Dependant on your background depends on what food will be better for you. Europeans have found olive oil their saving grace, whilst the eskimo has fish as a staple diet, the native Americans used beans & grains and the Oriental people have rice. I myself have found a mix or variety of all the differeent foods throughout the week is beneficial to me.

In my studies in food science I was taught about the fact that the larger the fish the more likely to have higher concentrations of heavy metals this also applies to reef fish due to the fact they feed on and near the coral which absorbs heavy metals. It should be noted that at this time it was also pointed out to us that the average person was more likely to have problems associated with medications than to fish.

The general attitude of the various health authorities towards fish has over the years changed. It is my understanding that not wanting to throw water on the fire the governments of the world or at least in Australia have introduced various measures to ensure our safety when eating foods such as fish. Dietitians across the world have only recently come to find the fact that smaller meals increased in frequency with around 4 srves of fish per week is more beneficial than our old style western diet of the 1970's and 80's.

A bit of my background info for you. I am a self taught chef who in my training has achieved Honours & credits through all the subjects.
